NEW Update on Sewer Line Construction Project for the Week of October 4th - October 7th:

On Monday October 4th, RMS Utilities was able to work with a traffic control subcontractor on HWY 149/ South La Garita Ave to continue to replace the sewer lines, specifically on E. 9th Street, AND the alley between E.7th & E.8th streets.  They were also able to dig near the existing manhole on S. Main Street/HWY 149 and install a permanent water-tight end cap on the short sewer line at that location (across from 10 1/2 Street).

Tuesday October 5th: RMS is now planning on pouring the cement around the inlet structures on Wall Street and on La Garita Ave (in front of the Rec Center), removing base material that was applied for this past weekend, and then also applying hot asphalt to these previously prepared sections on La Garita (1st down to 3rd St).  They will then prepare the other sections of La Garita, as well as on W. Wall Street around the new MH at the alley/near Cafe Ole, for asphalt on Wednesday 10/6.   (small road closures in these areas is planned for Tuesday evening so asphalt can be applied Wednesday morning.

Wednesday 10/6- Application of hot asphalt in the remainder of La Garita Ave and the new MH location on W. Wall Street is planned

Thursday 10/7-  Any hot asphalt completion necessary and general clean up of the locations listed above, along with potentially forming of the drainage pan in the alley between Loma and N. Main Street

***** All of these activities being planned, but may change due to weather or material supply at any given moment, so your anticipated cooperation and flexibility during this time of year is greatly appreciated*****

Please anticipate possible daily road closures to vehicles in these areas of La Garita Ave during this time period and plan ahead accordingly.  ALL Off Highway Vehicles (OHV) have been detoured from the typical route on 3rd Street, to now utilize 5th Street as a result of this construction zone.  This portion of La Garita will have one lane open to OHV traffic during construction for OHV vehicles so they can utilize the detour route to get to the DownStream Gas Station.  HIGHWAY 149 IS NOT TO BE UTILIZED BY OHV vehicles (please help spread the word).
